The City of 8.4 Million

In my grade 12 year of high school, I went on our school field trip to New York City. At the time I never thought I’d ever leave Canada, and the sheer thought of going to New York was a pipe dream. But it wasn’t, and having gotten my passport the year prior I was determined to go. The drive to and from was cramped and long, but well worth it. This was taken long before I realized how much I enjoyed photography on an old digital mirrorless camera from on top of the Rockefeller Centre. It was truly amazing to see such a city from my small little hometown of Kingston, even if Spongebob did offer me crack in Time’s Square…

Sadly, that would turn out to be the very last New York City trip my high school would ever do. As it was deemed, “Noneducational.”
